I am not a member of ActiveEDGE gym, can I still join the club?
Absolutely! We invite and encourage non-members!
When and Where does the Training Team meet?
The current workout schedule offers 1 workout dedicated to HTC members with additional classes on our class schedule.
What if I am not a fast runner/walker?
Members of the HTC Training Team have a vast variety in their pace, experience and age. All workouts have options that meet the needs of the individual: varying route options and different pace groups.
What if I have never participated in a race or only done a few races?
This is a great place to start! You are not alone, we have many members looking to complete their first 5K and we have members who are race veterans. The HTC Training Team is far more concerned with helping members build bonds while training and participating in running and walking events. You will have the opportunity to “learn the ropes” from supportive, knowledgeable and experienced runners and walkers.
Can I try a workout?
Absolutely, we encourage perspective members to come in and try a variety of our workouts. Your first workout is complimentary. Give us a call at 503-387-5449 or email Willee@activeedgewellness.com to set up your first workout.
Can I join mid-season?
Of course! You can join the HTC Training Team at any point throughout the season. We are always welcoming of new members.
What can I expect from the workouts?
The workouts will vary based on time of year and the group, but you can always expect that there will be a suitable workout for EVERYONE. ActiveEDGE takes pride in our ability to modify exercises and workouts based on individual needs/fitness, yet still provide the right challenge for everyone. Route variations and distances will be provided for group runs and walks. Strength workouts consist of cardio enhancing activities (either on indoor machines or outside running/walking) interspersed with running/walking biased strength activities.
How will this group help me to improve or learn to become a stronger runner or walker?
ActiveEDGE has knowledgeable, experienced and supportive trainers that have experience in training runners and walkers. We have many resources available including running/walking training, physical therapy, and nutrition. If injuries should occur, we can fast track you to a free consultation with one of our Physical Therapist.
How many workouts per week am I expected to attend?
This is up to you! We encourage you to attend as many workouts as possible, but also recognize what a busy schedule we all have. Most members attend 2+ workouts per week.
At what pace(s) will the group runs and walks be led?
We have a variety of pace groups for both runners and walkers. In addition, we will always have distance options to accommodate your current fitness and goals.
